The department of civil engineering at Government Polytechnic Kendrapara was established in 2013 with and is renowned for imparting state of the art diploma education and production high quality technical man power needed by industry, R&D organizations and academic institutions.civil engineering the profession of designing and executing structural works that serve the general public, such as dams, bridges, aqueducts, canals, highways, power plants, sewerage systems, and other infrastructure
The departmental activities embrace Planning, Design, Construction and Management. The syllabi of the department have been tremendously augmented with many advanced courses. The Details of Laboratories are as follows:
1. Civil Engineering Laboratory-1 (Material testing and Concrete)
2. Civil Engineering Laboratory-2 (Soil and Bitumen testing Laboratory)
3. Surveying & CWP Laboratory
4. Public Health Engineering and Hydraulic Laboratory
5. CADD Laboratory

7. Civil Engineering drawing hall
To impart knowledge and excellence in Civil Engineering and technology with global perspectives to our students and to make them ethically strong engineers to build our nation.
To produce engineers having professional and leadership qualities with capacity to pursue higher studies in graduation level as well as to perform professional and research works in civil engineering fields with enthusiasm and courage
PEO-1.To acquire fundamental knowledge in civil engineering and to solve problems related to civil engineering works.
PEO-2.To develop the skill required to work as a leader or team player in civil engineering works and project.
PEO-3.To impart the knowledge of analysis and design using the codes of practice and software packages.
PEO-4.To motivate the students to take up higher studies and innovative research projects.
PO1. Ability to apply knowledge of mathematics, science and engineering to solve complex problems in civil engineering.
PO2. Ability to identify, formulate, and solve complex civil engineering problems using first principle of mathematics, basic science & engineering.
PO3. Ability to demonstrate their civil engineering knowledge and skill to assess legal environmental and cultural issues relevant to professional engineering practice.
PO4. Ability to design and conduct complex civil engineering experiments as well as to analyze and interpret the experimental data.
PO5. Ability to use the techniques, skills, and modern engineering tools necessary for relevant engineering practices.
PSO1. Enhancing the employability skills by making the students find innovative solutions for challenges and problems in various domains of Civil Engineering.
PSO2. Inculcating in students tech suaveness to deal with practical aspects of Civil Engineering.
PSO3. Capable of designing and building civil engineering-based systems in the context of environmental, economical, and societal requirements and serve the community as ethical and responsible professionals.
PSO4. Able to use knowledge in various domains in Civil Engineering to identify research gaps and hence to provide solutions, innovations and engage in lifelong learning for professional growth.
